Gerald F. Laffen

Gerald F. "Jerry" Laffen, age 66 of Lankin, ND passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010 at his home near Lankin. Gerald F. Laffen was born May 5, 1943 in Edgeley, ND the son of the late Fred and Mary (Burnett) Laffen. He attended school there and later attended the Dakota College-Bottineau, ND for Wildlife Biology. He finished his education at Utah State University. He started working for Mayo Construction out of Cavalier, ND in 1967 as a truck driver. He later worked as a transport driver and retired as a roller operator in 2009. He was united in marriage to Dolores Raya-Hagman on December 10, 1977 in Wibaux, MT. The couple moved to Lankin in 2001. Jerry is survived by his wife Dolores, Lankin, ND; stepchildren: Michael (Monica) Hagman, Helena, MT; Jacques Hagman, Helena, MT; Anthony (Dawn) Hagman, Yuma, AZ, Dustin Hagman, Fargo,ND; seven grandchildren, brother Delbert (Ruby) Laffen, Wimbledon, ND; sister Mary (Charlie) Podoll, Lamoure, ND; and ten great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one nephew and one niece. Memorial services will be Friday, February 5, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
