Gerald Duane Jonasson

Gerald Duane "Jerry" Jonasson, age 22 of Edinburg, ND passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Sioux Narrows, Ontario, Canada. Jerry was born September 28, 1987 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Duane and Marjie (Gaarder) Jonasson. He attended schools in Edinburg and graduated from Edinburg High School in 2006. He later attended UND in Grand Forks, ND. He was currently working for Citizens State Bank in Edinburg. While in high school, Jerry excelled in sports. He was a member of the Spartan Football Team, the Titan Basketball Team and the Adams/Edmore Prowler Baseball team. He was named to the all state team for football for two years in a row. Jerry enjoyed hunting and fishing and being around people. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Jerry is survived by his parents: Marjie Jonasson and Duane Jonasson both of Edinburg, ND; his sisters: Mara and Rachel Jonasson, both of Edinburg, ND; his maternal grandmother LaVerne Gaarder, Edmore, ND; his special friend Lindy McCollum, Crystal, ND and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather. Funeral services will be Friday, June 18, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Edinburg. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Friends may also call at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Edinburg, ND.
