Georgia A. Burianek, age 93 of Grafton, ND passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at the Woodside Village of Grand Forks, ND. Georgia A. Janda was born August 5, 1918 in Veseleyville, ND, the daughter of the late George and Emma (Dvorak) Janda. She grew up and attended schools there. She married Vendelyn Burianek on October 14, 1941 in Veseleyville. The couple lived and farmed near Veseleyville until 1977 when they moved to Grafton. She worked as a hostess at the Belvador Hotel and the couple also worked as custodians at Bremer bank until 1997 when they retired. Vendelyn passed away in 2008 after 67 years of marriage and she moved to 4000 Valley Square. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and Altar Society, the Minto American Legion Auxiliary, and the KD Logde. She enjoyed spending time with her family, square dancing, quilting, embroidery, and crocheting. She is survived by her son Lawrence (Adele) Burianek, daughters: Phyllis (Ronald) Unke, Yuma, AZ, Elaine (Rick) Kilichowski, Minto, ND, Margaret "Marge" (Greg) Gudajtes, Grand Forks, ND, Nita (Keith) Harrington, Grand Forks, ND, brother John (Irene) Janda, Grafton, ND, as well as 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Agnes, granddaughter Jill Kilichowski, and great granddaughter Molly Passa. Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 6:30 at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the St. Luke's Catholic Cemetery of Veseleyville.
