George Landon Petersen

George Landon Petersen, Jr., age 83, of Otter Tail Lake, MN, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018.  Landon was born April 23, 1935, to George Landon and Mildred (Anfinson) Petersen in Pierson, IA.  After graduating from Wahpeton High School he attended the University of North Dakota where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.  Landon was united in marriage to Vicki Larson on August 25, 1958.  They lived in Grafton, ND and raised their three children, Brian, Julie, and John.

Landon taught school in Forest River and Grafton.  He also spent many years working at the Bil-Vi-Dor Motel and Furniture Store.  Landon and Vicki moved to Denver in 1988.  He worked in the furniture business.  In 1991 they moved to Otter Tail Lake, MN.  Landon enjoyed lake life and having his family visit.

Landon was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki, and his parents, George Landon and Mildred Petersen.  Landon will be missed by his sons, Brian (Jill) Petersen and John Petersen, and his daughter, Julie Nygard.  Also, his sister, Dee Tingley.  He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Tasha (Terrance) Barreau, Tiffany (Matthew) Malone, Andrew (Kristina) Petersen, and Billy Petersen.  He also leaves four great grandchildren, Olivia, Ariana, and Emilia Barreau and Isaac Petersen.

Memorial Services will be held Monday, July 2, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Federated Church of Grafton.  Visitation will be on Monday at the church for one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at the Grafton City Cemetery, Grafton, ND.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Hospice of the Red River Valley.
