George F. Miller

George F. Miller age 93 formerly of Adams, ND passed away on Monday, June 4, 2012 at the CLC Living Center, Fargo Veterans Administration Hospital, Fargo, ND. George Frank Miller was born March 26, 1919 the son of the late Frank and Mary (Pesek) Miller on the family farm in Newbre Township of Ramsey County, ND. He attended the Newbre School and following his education farmed with his father. George joined the Army Air Corps on April 25, 1942 and served in various locations, one being a radar station on the Aleutians Islands for 18 months. He received his discharge on January 16, 1946 and returned home. He was united in marriage to Rose M. Cihlar on November 20, 1946 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Lankin. In 1950 the couple purchased a farm near Adams where they raised their four children. George was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Park River, ND and a life member of the Bosh-Ryba American Legion Post of Lankin. He is survived by his children: Marlin (Judy) Miller, Grand Forks, ND; Virginia (Phil) Blomquist, Grafton, ND; Gerald (Susan) Miller, Forest River, ND; seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and siblings: Sylvia Sommerfeld, Port Angeles, WA; Evelyn Karna, Owatonna, MN; Angeline Pic, Lawton, ND; Frank Miller Jr., Jamestown, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Linda, brother Edward and sister Loretta Stevens. Funeral services will be Friday, June 8, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Visitation will be Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at 1:30 PM Friday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Bechyne, ND. Military rites will be provided by the Lankin American Legion Post and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
