Gene E. Weberg

Gene E. Weberg, age 77 of Grafton, ND passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. Gene E. Weberg was born November 1, 1932 in Fairdale, ND the son of the late Gust and Selma (Myra) Weberg. He grew up and attended school in Fairdale. Following his education, Gene farmed in the Fairdale area. Gene was united in marriage to Lorraine Hedlund on June 12, 1955 in Fairdale. The couple lived and farmed near Fairdale until 1987. In 1988 they moved to Grafton where Gene worked as a Resident Care Technician at the Developmental Center, retiring in 2003. Gene was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Grafton. He was a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Fairdale and sang with the Men's Chorus in Fairdale. He also served as a Boy Scout Leader in Fairdale. Gene is survived by his wife Lorraine of Grafton, ND; children: Larae (Jim) Pesek, Lakota, ND; David Weberg, Fairdale, ND; Darla (Gary) Rushmeyer, St. Paul, MN; Grandchildren: Elizabeth Rushmeyer, St. Paul, MN; Brooke (Nate) Bulik, Lakota, ND; Brianne Pesek, Lakota, ND; Molly Rushmeyer and Sam Rushmeyer both of St. Paul, MN: great grandchildren: Mindy and Haylee Handt, both of St. Paul, MN; sister Lillian Bolton, Duluth, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Leon, an infant brother and two grandchildren: Chase and Emily. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Gustavus-Adolphus Lutheran Cemetery near Fairdale.
