Gary L Pecka

Gary L. Pecka, age 48 of Omaha, NE and formerly of Conway and Lankin, ND, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. Gary L. Pecka was born July 12, 1965 in Grafton, ND, the son of Edward and Eunice (Denault) Pecka. He grew up in Conway and attended school in Fordville. The family moved to Lankin in 1980 and he graduated from Lankin High School in 1983. He then attended the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton and graduated with a degree in Auto Mechanics in 1985. He began working for Porter's in Park River and later for Dahlstrom Motors in Olso until moving to Milwaukee to work for GM. In 2006 he moved to Omaha, NE where he was currently working for 2 Men and a Shop in Bennington, NE. Gary was a former member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Lankin. He was a sports fanatic and enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR and football. He will be dearly missed by all his family. He is survived by his parents: Ed and Eunice Pecka, Lankin, ND, siblings: Debbie (Ivan) Johnson, Grand Forks, ND, Susan (Warren) Willyard, Portland, ND, Sandy (Curtis) Gerszewski, Minto, ND, Brian (Shannon) Pecka, Omaha, NE, nieces and nephews: Kristen (Todd) Sprenger, Brittany (Zach Love) Johnson, Andrew and Matthew Willyard, Paul (Crystal) Gerszewski, Nicole (Josh) Hefta, Cody Gerszewski, Derek and Caleb Pecka, great nieces and nephews: Joseph Sprenger, Jaylee Gerszewski, Isaac and Liam Hefta, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and several aunts and uncles. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 14, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Lankin. Interment will be at St. Mark's Catholic Cemetery of Conway following the service. Lunch will be served at the home of Dale and Melanie Pecka (the old Catholic Church) following the interment.
