Gail M. Holt joined our heavenly Father on Monday, May 23, 2011 at her home in Grafton, ND. Gail Brecto was born September 30, 1930, to Darwin and Anna Brecto in Harvey, ND. She was baptized and confirmed at Stavanger Lutheran Church in Cathay, ND. She attended and graduated from high school in New Rockford, ND. She attended and graduated from Aaker's Business College in Grand Forks, ND, and worked as a secretary at Bridgeman Creamery in Grand Forks, ND. Gail married the love of her life Robert Holt on December 27, 1959 at New Rockford. They resided and farmed in Hoople, ND where Gail was the secretary at the Hoople School. Their son Bradley was born in 1965 in Hoople, ND. Gail and Bob retired in 1999 and moved to Fordville, ND and moved to Grafton, ND in 2003. Gail was a member of the Bethel Free Lutheran Church in Grafton. She loved to play the piano and sing, and graciously sang solos at church. Gail is survived by her husband of 50 years Robert Holt, Grafton; son Bradley, Bismarck, ND; sisters JoAnn Hollatz, Carrington, ND, Jean (Roger) Martin, Rainier, OR, Lavonne (Jerry) Wilson, Rainier, OR; brothers Richard, Audubon, MN, Darwin (Carolyn), Crystal, MN, Edwin, New Rockford, ND, David (Tee), Prescott Valley, AZ; and one grandson Logan, Grand Forks, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Gail was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Betty Brecto of Crookston, Marlys Moren of Blaine, MN and brother Harlan of Quartsite, Arizona. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bethel Free Lutheran Church, Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery in Mandan, ND.
