Frieda G. Nupdal

Frieda G. Nupdal, age 81 of Grafton, ND passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Frieda G. Stark was born May 4, 1930 in Svold, ND the daughter of the late Henry and Lydia (Kroll) Stark. She attended rural school near Bathgate, ND. Following her education she worked at the Kleven Photography Studio in Cavalier, ND and the local grocery store. She was united in marriage to Thorarinn "Thor" Nupdal on June 10, 1951 in Mountain, ND. The couple moved to St. Thomas, ND in November of 1951 and Frieda worked in food service for the St. Thomas School. In March of 1982 the couple moved to Grafton and Frieda would do baking out of her home. Thor passed away on September 6, 1990. Frieda moved to the Lutheran Sunset Home in Grafton in October of 2011. She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and WELCA. She was a member of the church choir and the church quilting group. Frieda is survived by her children: Carol (Mike) Kliniske, Grafton, ND; Gary Nupdal, Grand Forks, ND; Gailene (Larry) Hueske, Dickinson, ND; Rod (Kristi) Nupdal, Grand Forks, ND; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and siblings: Linda (Harold) Rohde, Grand Forks, ND; and Don Stark, Minneapolis, MN; sisters-in-law: Inez (Gordon) Hall, Grafton, ND and Gloria Stark, Sioux Falls, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers: Martin, Harold and Gary, sister Evelyn Stark and two infant brothers. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 3-5 PM with a prayer service at 5:00 PM at Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Sunday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Grafton Lutheran Cemetery.
