Frederick M Ganssle

Frederick M. "Fred" Ganssle, age 75 of St. Thomas, ND passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Center of Park River. Fred Ganssle was born August 8, 1939 in Grafton, ND, the son of the late Garfield and Ella (Dietrich) Ganssle. He grew up and attended school in St. Thomas, graduating from St. Thomas High School. Following his education he began farming with his father and later his brother. He was united in marriage to Linda Fiedler on December 16, 1962 in Bathgate, ND. The couple lived and farmed in rural St. Thomas until moving into town in 1998. He retired from farming in 2006. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of rural St. Thomas, and served on the Lodema Township Board for many years. He enjoyed bowling and fishing, but farming was his true passion. He is survived by his wife Linda, St. Thomas, ND, children: Jamie (Kristi) Ganssle, Crystal, ND, Renae (Gary) Pic, Lawton, ND, Fred T. (Lisa) Ganssle, St. Thomas, ND, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, siblings: Donald (Sharon) Ganssle, St. Thomas, ND, Deanna (Jerry) Loreth, Breckenridge, MN, and Marlys (Marvin) Stark, Cavalier, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Shane. Funeral services will be Monday, September 29, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of rural St. Thomas. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery of rural St. Thomas.
