Frank A. Suda

Frank A. Suda, age 89, of Grafton, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at his home in Grafton.

Frank was born November 4, 1933 in Veseleyville, ND, to Frank and Antoinette (Karnik) Suda.  He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Veseleyville.  Frank enlisted in the United States Army on April 6, 1955.  Following his honorable discharge on April 8, 1957, he returned home and worked various jobs including farming with his dad in Veseleyville.  Frank was united in marriage to Bonnie McEwen on June 1, 1959 in Drayton, ND.  They made their home in Grafton, ND where they raised their nine children.  Frank retired from the Grafton Public School System on June 30, 1999.

Frank was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.  He enjoyed all kinds of sports and the Boston Red Socks and Green Bay Packers were his favorite teams.  He also enjoyed gardening.  Frank enjoyed spending time with his family.

Frank is survived by his wife, Bonnie Suda, Grafton, ND; his children:  Debbie (Dennis) Dolan, West Fargo, ND; Julie (David) Cernik, West Fargo, ND;  Kristy (Steve) Batuello, Parker, CO; Peggy (Robert) Anderson, Grand Forks, ND; Rebecca Suda, Madison, WI; James Suda, Colorado Springs, CO; Elizabeth (Tony) Feltman, Colorado Springs, CO;  Kari Suda, Colorado Springs, CO;  Jeff Suda, Seattle, WA; 18 grandchildren; one great grandchild on the way; brothers:  Jerry Suda, Bismarck, ND; Lawrence Suda, Washington, DC; sister, Loretta (Joel) Tongen, Crookston, MN and several nieces and nephews.  Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters:  Maryann (Duane) Demers and Rosalie Suda; brother, Clem Suda, brother-in-law, Duane Demers and sisters-in-law: Diane (Jerry) Suda and Diann (Clem) Suda.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 10, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be at the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Grafton.  Military rites will be provided by the Grafton American Legion Post and the North Dakota National Guard in the spring.
