Frank J Rose

Frank J. Rose, age 96 of Grafton, ND, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Frank J. Rose was born July 14, 1916 in Veseleyville, ND, the son of the late Frank and Mary (Janousek) Rose. He grew up and attended rural schools in the area. Following his education he worked on the family farm for a time and then worked for various area farmers. He then did work with the CCC for a short time before returning to Grafton. Upon returning, he worked for Glen Mohagen at his gas station and salvage yard and then worked for K.P. Johnson's Auto Repair. He also worked for Nygard's Garage and the Chevrolet Garage before starting Rose Garage in 1946. He was united in marriage to Nora Martin on November 19, 1945 in Grafton, ND. He continued to work at his garage until the age of 92. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. He was a very hardworking man who never complained. He is survived by his wife Nora of Grafton, children: Carol Rose, Grafton, ND, David Rose, Grafton, ND, sisters: Marian Devos, Crookston, MN, Lillian Martin, Grafton, ND, Marcella Dunrud, Thief River Falls, MN, brother-in-law Henry Dietrich, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Patricia Devos, Della Dietrich, and brothers: Cyril and Jerry Rose. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
