Frank B. Narloch, age 79 of Minto, ND passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at the Valley Eldercare Center of Grand Forks. Frank B. Narloch was born July 24, 1929 on the family farm near Forest River, ND to Bernard J. and Julia (Danielski) Narloch. He graduated from the Forest River High School in 1947. He later attended 30 months of Agricultural training at the Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River. Frank was united in marriage to Leona "Dolly" Wysocki on December 1, 1951 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Minto, ND. Frank served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from February of 1952 to February of 1954. Following his discharge Frank returned home and started farming. He farmed until his retirement in 1994.
Frank was a lifelong member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a life member of the Minto American Legion Post #201 where he served as past commander and past finance officer. He served on the Walsh County Crop Improvement Board, served on the Walsh County Community ASCS Board, served as supervisor of the Three Rivers Soil Conservation District, served on the Board and was Past President of the Minto Farmers Elevator, served on the Board of the Red River Valley Sugar Beet Growers Association, and served on the Board of Directors of American Crystal Sugar Company.
Frank and Dolly liked to travel in their 5
th
wheel. They toured Alaska & other interesting places. The past eight winters were spent in a RV Resort in Kerrville, TX. Frank liked to visit with his friends, play Pinochle and all the little card games with the grandkids. He believed that Hard Work and Honest Sweat are the building blocks of a person character. HE BELIEVED IN FARMING.
Frank is survived by his children: Jeff (Lorrie) Narloch, Grafton, ND; Randy (Lou Ann) Narloch, Eden Prairie, MN; Brad (Adrienne) Narloch, Minto, ND; Penny (Ray) Maw, Denver, CO; Rodger (Lisa) Narloch, Cold Spring, MN; eleven grandson, four granddaughters and sister Lois (Pat) Ferry, St. Louis Park, MN; and Julie Kamrowski, Park Rapids, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dolly on Dec. 20, 2007, sister Bernadine Peters and brother-in-law Don Kamrowski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Minto. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM and Saturday for one hour prior to the service all at the church. Interment will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Minto, ND.
Military rites will be provided by the Minto American Legion Post #201.
The Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton is in charge of the arrangements.
