Frank Aasand, age 66 of Grafton, ND, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Sanford Hospital of Fargo, ND.
Frank Aasand was born July 27, 1949 in Grafton, ND, the son of Ole and Frances (Weed) Aasand. He graduated from Grafton High School and then North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND in 1972 with his degree in Pharmacy. He then returned to Grafton and worked for Getz Drug. Frank was united in marriage to Victoria LaBonte on August 10, 1974 in Grafton, ND. The couple made their home in Grafton. He owned and operated Frank’s Pharmacy from 1983 through 2001. In 2001, Frank began working for Grafton Drug and retired in 2011. He moved to Fargo in 2011 and continued to make his home there until the time of his death.
He was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Elks Club, the Eagle’s Club and was a past president of the Grafton Curling Club. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, curling and golfing. He was a member of the curling team that won the National Men’s Curling in 1972.
Frank is survived by his children: Robert (Jessica) Aasand, Fargo, ND; Peter (Keelie) Aasand, Fargo, ND; Jennifer (Shawn) Kliniske, St. Paul, MN; grandchildren: Aubree Aasand and Aveyah Kliniske; parents, Ole and Frances Aasand, Grafton; siblings: John (Debbie) Aasand, Grafton, ND; James (Jan) Aasand, Grafton, ND; Mary (Michael) Pederson, Fargo, ND; Kim Aasand, Anchorage, AK and Charles (Kathy) Aasand, Pocatello, ID. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law: JoAnn Aasand and Valerie Aasand.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 25, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00-5:00 PM with a prayer service at 5:00 at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may call at the church for one hour prior to the service on Monday. Inurnment will be at the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
