Francis R. Daninger, 70 of Hoople, ND passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center of Jamestown. Francis R. Daninger was born May 18, 1942 in St. Paul, MN the son of the late Charles and Gertrude (Redlickner) Daninger. He graduated from High School in Little Falls, MN. Following his education he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving in Vietnam. Following his discharge he worked as a financial officer in East Grand Forks, MN. Francis was united in marriage to Pauline M. Dubuque on November 6, 1965 in Sisseton, SD. He reenlisted in the Air Force and worked as an intelligence officer, retiring in 1988 after 22 ½ years of service. He later worked as a private contractor for the Department of Defense, retiring in 2004 and moving to Hoople, ND. Francis was a member of the Hoople American Legion Post #240 and the Air Force Association. Francis is survived by his wife Pauline of Hoople, ND; children: Jeffrey Allan Daninger, Tampa, FL; Marie (Gary) Watts, Grand Forks, ND; Darryl (Valerie) Daninger, San Antonio, TX; Gwendlyn Daninger, Hoople, ND; three grandchildren: Dylan Hardy, Philip and Shelby Cyr; two brothers: Roger (Diane) Daninger, Mayville, WA; John (Terrie) Daninger, Elysian, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 28, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Park River. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the church in Park River. Military rites will be provided by the Hoople American Legion Post and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
