Florence D Sangrait

Florence D. "Buzzy" Sangrait, age 82 of Grafton, ND passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Altru hospital of Grand Forks. Florence D. Azure was born September 9, 1931 in Belcourt, ND the daughter of the late Norman and Emma (Allery) Azure. She grew up and attended school in Belcourt. Following her education she worked at San Haven and for the Belcourt Public Health. Florence was united in marriage to Gaspard "Gus" Sangrait on November 11, 1952 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Belcourt. The couple moved to Grafton in 1958 and Florence worked at the Grafton Developmental Center and later as a CNA at the Unity Medical Center. She then worked for REM at different group homes in Grafton and later did home care for those who needed assistance. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Florence is survived by her children: Darrel Sangrait (Twila Kamlitz), Jamestown, ND; Gary Sangrait, Lankin, ND; Janice (Scott) Simianer, Custer, SD; and Marilyn (Phal) Ek, Grafton, ND; 15 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and siblings: Verna Jeanott, Maryland, Patrick (Kathleen) Azure, Belcourt, ND; Betty (Richard) St. Clair, Belcourt, ND; Jeanette (Delbert) Beston, Dunseith, ND; Elizabeth (Duane) Anderson, Williston, ND; Beverly (Jim) Sangrait, Park River, ND; Melvin (Shirley) Azure, Belcourt, ND; and Linda Viviar, Ardoch, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gaspard on Nov. 21, 2001, three children: Joseph, Sandra and David, grandson Darren and siblings: Mary Louise Houle, Steven Azure, Larry Azure and infant sister Janice. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, September 16, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Anne's Catholic Church of Belcourt. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church in Belcourt one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery in Belcourt.
