Florence A. Peterka

Florence A. Peterka, age 99 of Pisek, ND passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center of Park River. Florence A. Vislisel was born June 14, 1912 in Pisek, ND the daughter of the late Mike and Julia (Studeny) Vislisel. She grew up and attended school in Pisek. After graduating high school Florence attended the Valley City State Teacher's College. She taught school for 31 years in the Whitman, Veseleyville, and Pisek areas. In 1939 Florence married Benedict Peterka. The couple lived and farmed in the Veseleyville area. Benedict passed away in 1969. Florence moved into the Good Samaritan Center of Park River in 1997. She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and Altar Society, Pisek, ND, the St. Luke's Catholic Church and Altar Society in Veseleyville, ND, and the Retired Teachers Association. Florence is survived by her son Michael (Jeanne) Peterka, Veseleyville, ND; daughter, Mary Gail (Paul) Woutat, St. Paul, MN; 9 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Benedict, Brother Julius Vislisel, and sister Delia (Martin) Swartz. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 12, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Veseleyville, ND. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 P.M. with a prayer service at 7 P.M. at St. John Nepomocene Catholic Church, Pisek, ND. Friends may also call at St. Luke's Catholic Church on Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Luke's Catholic Cemetery, Veseleyville, ND.
