Florence M. Pecka

Florence M. Pecka, age 88 of Park River, ND passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Center of Park River. Florence M. Novak was born November 1, 1924 in Walsh County, ND the daughter of the late Anton and Margaret (Barta) Novak. After attending rural school, she worked at home and for her Aunt Julia Burris. Florence was united in marriage to George Pecka on October 27, 1949 at St. Mark's Catholic Church of Conway, ND. The couple resided in Conway until her husband passed away in 1974. Florence later lived in Pisek until she moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Park River where she has been a resident for the last 19 years. Florence is survived by her brothers: Cy (Delores) Novak, Leonard (Ellen) Novak, both of Grafton, ND; Herman (Pat) Novak, Fargo, ND; sisters: Edith Flint, Casa Grande, AZ and Doris (Dick) Wilhelmi, Blue Earth, MN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers: Tony Novak and Vivian Novak. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Park River. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9-11:00 A.M. at the church. Interment will be at St. Mark's Catholic Cemetery, Conway, North Dakota. The Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River is in charge of the arrangements.
