Faye A Olafson

Faye A. Olafson, age 81 of Milton, ND passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at her home in Milton with her family at her side.

Faye Aileen Rustan was born April 22, 1944 in Langdon, ND the daughter of the late Orville and Alice (Nelson) Rustan. She grew up and attended school in Milton, graduating in May of 1962. Faye was united in marriage to Kenneth Olafson on September 15, 1962 at Zion Lutheran Church of Union, ND. The couple made their home in Gardar, ND. Faye worked as a computer tech at the PAR site in Nekoma, ND.  Kenneth took a job in Albuquerque, NM where they lived until transferring to Salt Lake City, UT in 1988. In 2005 they moved to Westport, WA and in 2013 they moved back to the Gardar/Milton area.

Faye was a member of the Grace Free Lutheran church of Edinburg, ND. Her passion was genealogy. Her love was quilting and cross stitich. While in Utah, she traced her family back to the 1600’s.

Faye is survived by her husband, Kenneth of Milton, ND; her children: Scott (Sheri) Olafson, Langdon, ND; Katey (Britt) Tanner, Gulf Shores, AL;  three grandchildren: Madison, Alexander, and Macy, step grandchildren: Byron Dunn, Keenen Dunn (dcd), Tristen Tanner, Sean Fitches, and Savana Gonzales; two great grandchildren: Eden and Greyson; her siblings: Terry Rustan, Franklin, TN and Gloria (Curt) Steinolfson, Milton, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Jodi O’Hara for all the care shown to Faye over these last several years.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Grace Free Lutheran Church of Edinburg, ND. Visitation will be Friday at the church for one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in the Gardar Cemetery.  Memorials are preferred to the Garder Pioneer Lutheran Church.
