Everett R. Nelson

Everett R. Nelson, age 91 of Grafton, ND passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2010 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton. Everett R. Nelson was born November 27, 1919 in Martin Township, Walsh County, ND the son of the late Bennie A. and Ann Marie (Johnson) Nelson. He attended rural schools near there. Following his education Everett started working for A.B. Thompson Farms and worked there for 31 years. He was united in marriage to Stella Hanson on September 23, 1939 in Grand Forks, ND. The couple made their home in Grafton. In 1973 he went to work for Paul Brodeur Construction and retired from there in 1981. Stella passed away on January 17, 1997. Everett moved to the Lutheran Sunset Home in April of 2004. Everett was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Grafton. He was a charter member of the Eagle's Aerie #2803 and a past member of the Grafton Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his children: LeRoy (Thelma) Nelson, Grafton, ND; Ann Marie (Gary) Estad, Alvarado, MN; Bennie (Clara) Nelson, Crookston, MN; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and siblings: John (Leona) Nelson, Grafton, ND; Bennie (Betty) Nelson, Vancouver, WA; Vivian Braunschweig, Vancouver, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers: Henry, Harold, Elmer, Melvin, Allen and Norval and sisters: Alice and Mabel. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service. Interment will be at the Landstad Cemetery in Auburn, ND.
