Evelyn F. Plutowski

Evelyn F. Plutowski, age 88 of Warsaw, ND passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Valley Eldercare Center of Grand Forks, ND.

Evelyn F. Gerszewski was born November 20, 1929 in Walshville Township, Walsh County, ND the daughter of the late Syrapion and Julia (Byzewski) Gerszewski. She attended rural school in Walshville Township, the St. Anthony School in Warsaw and Minto High School. Evelyn was united in marriage to Edwin Plutowski on October 14, 1947 in Warsaw, ND. The couple lived and farmed south of Warsaw. Edwin passed away on April 22, 2011. She moved to Grand Forks, ND in the fall of 2011. In 2012 she moved to the Good Samaritan Center in East Grand Forks, MN and last fall moved to Valley Eldercare.

Evelyn was a member of the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and Altar Society and the Sacred Heart Society. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and working in her flower beds. Evelyn also raised various types of poultry on the farm including Guinea Hens, Pheasants and Peacocks. She wasn’t afraid to attempt any project. She taught herself how to upholster furniture, refinish antiques and crocheting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Evelyn is survived by her children: Dale (Judy) Plutowski, Minto, ND; Arlette (Jay) Britton, Grand Forks, ND; Kelly Plutowski, Grand Forks, ND; Bart Plutowski, Minto, ND; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and her sisters: Marie Lizakowski, Grand Forks, ND and Delores (Dan) Burianek, Grafton, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Gary, great granddaughter, Alivia and brother Daniel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Warsaw, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
