Evelyn B. Flaten

Evelyn B. "Evie" Flaten, age 86 of Park River, ND died Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND. Evelyn B. Zielke was born February 6, 1922 in Mead, Kansas, the daughter of the late Jacob and Marie (Workenteen) Zielke. She attended schools in Oklahoma. Evelyn was united in marriage to Irwin Flaten on June 28, 1964 in Clovis, CA. The couple worked as missionaries for Go-Ye Missionaries in Brazil for 22 years. The couple returned to Park River, ND in 1986 and in 2004 Evelyn moved to the Good Samaritan Center.

She is survived by her husband Irwin, Park River, ND; sister Elsie St. Mars, Weiser, ID; sisters-in-law: Erna (William) Cole, Williston, ND; Evelyn P. Flaten, Park River, ND; Diana Lucas, Sacramento, CA; Judy Engelmann, Grand Forks, ND; brothers-in-law: Amos "Mosey" (Darlene) Flaten and Andy (Betty) Flaten, both Park River, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers-in-law: Russell St. Mars, Marvin and Duane Flaten and Vernon Engelmann.
