Emil Kulas, age 93 of Park River, ND passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at the First Care Health Center of Park River.
Emil Kulas was born May 26, 1924 in Stephen, MN, the son of the late Bazil and Frances (Langowski) Kulas. He grew up and attended school near Stephen. After his schooling he worked for area farmers and as a lumberjack in northern Minnesota. Emil was united in marriage to Rosie Kosmatka on November 7, 1944 in Warsaw. The couple made their home near Grafton where he worked for McCauley Farms. They later moved to Hoople, ND and worked for Oberg farms until his retirement. Rosie passed away in August of 2004. Emil moved to Park River, where he continued to make his home until the time of his death.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Emil is survived by his children: Darlene (Rodger) Peterson, Grand Forks, ND; Richard Kulas, Fargo, ND; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; brother, James Kulas, Rock Falls, IL; sister, Sara Parker, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Rosie, children: Ruth Trent, Phyllis Summers, Roger Kulas, infant daughter, Debra and a stillborn infant child; siblings: Delphine Rajnowski, Rayfield, Leonard, Ernie, Geonard, Stanley, Lawrence, Jerry and Raymond.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Park River. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery of Park River. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
