Emanuel Cicha

Emanuel J. Cicha, age 90 of Grafton, ND passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton.

Emanuel J. Cicha was born May 12, 1928 in Veseleyville, North Dakota, the son of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Vesley) Cicha.  He was raised and attended school in the Veseleyville and Park River area.  Emanuel was discharged from the Army in 1951 and went to work as a potato grower.  Emanuel married Donna Nelson Lien on October 11, 1962 in Park River, ND.  Emanuel and Donna lived in Park River and Grafton over the years and Emanuel worked for Associated Potato Growers.

Emanuel enjoyed fishing, growing flowers, his cats, and watching Western shows.   Family was important to him, he loved listening to Uncle Sig play polka music and visiting with family.  He was known around town for his aluminum can collecting and would have a conversation with anyone that he encountered.

Emanuel is survived by his wife Donna of Grafton; step-sons: John Lien of Grafton, Billy (Denise) Lien of Minto, and Delbert (Jody) Lien of Grafton; Son-in-law: Joe Woinarowicz of Arizona; Grandchildren: Tina Lien, Christopher (Jackie) Lien, Jared Lien, and Jay Woinarowicz; Great-grandchildren: Jonathan Houle and Nevaeh Lien: siblings:  Sylvester (Chieko) Cicha of Washington and Angie Burger of Park River, ND.

Memorial Services will take place on February 7, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Lutheran Sunset Home Chapel.
