Ellen M Severson

Ellen M. Severson, age 84 of Grafton, ND passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton.

Ellen M. Lee was born May 29, 1936 in Dewey Township, ND, the daughter of the late Oscar and Mabel (Knudson) Lee. She grew up and attended school in Fairdale, graduating from Fairdale High School. Following her education, she moved to Fargo, ND for several years. She returned to Fairdale where she met Nels Severson. The couple was united in marriage on June 8, 1963 in Fairdale. The couple moved to Grafton, ND where they raised their family. After Nels passed away in 1980, she began working as a CNA at the Lutheran Sunset Home until her retirement.

She was a member of the Grafton Lutheran Church and WELCA. She enjoyed gardening, puzzle books, watching the Golden Girls, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Ellen is survived by her children: Cindy Martin, St. Paul, TX, Lisa Severson, Grafton, ND, Tammy (Paul) Nord, Pelican Rapids, MN, Mark (Amy) Severson, Lantana, TX and Rhonda (Mark) Anderson, Minto, ND; grandchildren: Jennifer Martin, Christopher Martin, Jonathan Martin, Abby (Peter) Scott, Dillon Nord, Cody Nord, Sadie Severson, Anders Severson, and Noah Anderson; great grandchildren: Emily Martin, Ryan Nerio and Preston Paslay; siblings: Elaine (Howard) Finger, Windsor, CA, Lester (Patricia) Lee, Adams, ND, and June Peterson, Colorado Springs, CO; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Nels, granddaughter Ashley Ganyo, son-in-law Greg Martin and siblings: Harold Lee, Esther Brown, and Emma Fosdick.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grafton Lutheran Church of Grafton. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Grafton Lutheran Cemetery. Masks will be required and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
