Ella, just shy of her 90th birthday, passed away peacefully at her home after spending time surrounded by some of her favorite people.

Ella Mae Collette was born September 9, 1936 in Grafton, ND the daughter of the late Wilfred and Marie (Lessard) Collette. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Jeanette Nagel, Frances Nygard, Madonna Rysavy, Lucille Osowski, Theresa Collette and Joy Collette.

Ella had a beautiful way of bringing joy to the people around her and found happiness in the simple things she loved most. She enjoyed her morning coffee, a Sprite, doing crafts, shopping, playing Connect 4 and bingo, getting her hair and makeup done, and wearing lots of beautiful jewelry. Ella also enjoyed attending church and spending time with the people who were important to her.

Ella attended Listen Day Program, where she loved hanging out with her peers, playing lots of games, and getting her hair and makeup done. She treasured the friendships and connections she made there and looked forward to the time she spent with those around her.

For many years, Ella was supported by REM North Dakota, where she was surrounded by people who knew her, cared for her, and became an important part of her life. Her home was filled with familiar faces, love, laughter, and the everyday moments that brought her comfort and happiness. She was a cherished part of the REM North Dakota family and will be greatly missed.

Although our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort in knowing that Ella is reunited with her best friend once again. We imagine them together again, where she belongs, enjoying the things she loved and sharing that beautiful connection that meant so much to her.

Ella will be dearly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rest peacefully, Ella. You were deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten.
