Elizabeth A. Kosmatka

Elizabeth A. “Betty” Kosmatka, age 97 of Minto, ND, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Valley Eldercare Center of Grand Forks.

Elizabeth A. Ebertowski was born March 9, 1919 in Beltrami County, MN, the daughter of the late Alexander and Agatha (Stencil) Ebertowski. She attended rural schools. In 1938 she was united in marriage to Richard Gerszewski. He passed away in 1942. On February 16, 1944, she was united in marriage to Edwin Kosmatka. The couple made their home on the family farm near Minto. Edwin passed away on August 14, 1998. Betty moved to Minto and then later moved to Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks.

She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Warsaw, ND, Altar Society, Rosary Society and the Sacred Heart Society. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, loved baking and playing Bingo.

Betty is survived by her sons: Marvin Kosmatka, Warsaw, ND; Lawrence (Elaine) Gerszewski, Grand Forks, ND; Richard (Carol) Gerszewski, Minto, ND; twelve grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Richard and Edwin, daughter, Sharon, infant twins, great grandson and twelve brothers and sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Warsaw. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.
