Elizabeth A. "Betty" Johnson, age 83 of rural Hoople, ND passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. Elizabeth A. "Betty" Harlow was born August 2, 1928 in Drayton, ND, the daughter of the late Harry and Selma (Nelson) Harlow. She graduated from Drayton High School and Mayville State Teachers College. She worked as a teacher for numerous years as well as working other various jobs in the area. She was united in marriage to Glenn Johnson. The couple worked together on the family farm in Hoople, raising their family. She was very active in the three communities she lived in: Nash, Hoople and rural Hoople. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, the ALCW and the Hoople American Legion Auxiliary. Elizabeth is survived by her children: Suzanne (David) Brener, Fargo, ND; Mary (Dennis) Monson, Grafton, ND; Lynda (Scott) Kern, Grafton, ND; grandchildren: Aaron & Nicole Craig, Wayne, Daniel and Joshua Monson, Miko Ranta and Jien Juadrik; great grandchildren: Venus & Gavin Craig, Kadence Munns, Daisy Monson and Adrian Ranta; sister: Bonnie (Willis) Puppe, Grafton, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glenn and five brothers. Visitation will be Monday, July 23, 2012 from 3:00 to 4:00 PM with a prayer service at 4:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Hoople. Interment will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hoople.
