Eleanor Lerud

Eleanor M. Lerud, age 90 of Grafton, ND passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton. Eleanor M. Lerud was born September 23, 1920 in Drayton, ND the daughter of the late Alexander and Elizabeth (Cox) Fraser. She grew up and attended school in St. Thomas, ND. Following her education she worked as a seamstress at the Grafton Developmental Center. Eleanor was united in marriage to Arvil Lerud in 1941. The couple lived and farmed near Auburn, ND until moving to Grafton in 1958. He passed away on July 24, 1974. Eleanor spent many winters in Mesa, AZ. Eleanor was united in marriage to Arnold Orsund on May 16, 1998. The couple made their home in Grafton. Eleanor was a member of the Grafton Assembly of God Church. She is survived by her husband Arnold, Grafton, ND; son Glenn Lerud, Grafton, ND; step-children: Shirley (Richard) Van Camp, Drayton, ND; Rodney Orsund, Minto, ND; Allen (Barb) Orsund, Newton, IA; five step-grandchildren, 11 step great grandchildren; and sister Ethel Scott, Scottsdale, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arvil, five sisters: Dorothy, Ruth, Marian, Alice and Thelma and brother Keith. Memorial services will be Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Grafton Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Landstad Cemetery, Auburn, ND.
