Eleanor Lee

Eleanor Schroeder Lee, age 82 of Park River, ND, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.

Eleanor Schroeder was born April 18, 1934 in Mallory, MN, the daughter of the late John and Emma (Buttenhoff) Schroeder. She attended grade school in Mallory and graduated from the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston, MN in 1953. She was united in marriage to Harold Lee on July 10, 1954 in Fisher, MN. They raised their children Debra, Charlotte, Steve, Larry and Daryl at the farm they purchased in Shepherd Township. The couple moved to Park River in 1996.

Eleanor was a member of the Vang Lutheran Church of rural Fairdale, the Mountain Lutheran Church of Adams and the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Park River, as well as the Sons of Norway Vaarliv Lodge #4486 and the Good Sam Auxiliary. She helped with the Walsh County Fair and 4-H and enjoyed quilting and knitting. She was a member of the Walsh Quilters and the knitting group at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children: Debra Lee, Park River, ND, Charlotte (Maynard) Landsem, Edmore, ND, Steve (Deborah) Lee, Pisek, ND, Larry (Stacy) Lee, Fargo, ND and Daryl (Sandra) Lee, Lawton, ND; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren with one more on the way; brother John Schroeder, sisters: Karen, Viola and Wanda; brother-in-law Lester (Pat) Lee, Adams, ND, sisters-in-law: Ellen Severson, Grafton, ND, June Peterson, Colorado Springs, CO and Elaine Finger, Fullerton, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Emma Schroeder, husband Harold Lee on March 8, 2010, daughter Delores Lee, granddaughter Landsem, sisters: Bev Vidden and Leona Sibbetts; brothers: Melborne Schroeder and Ted Schroeder; sisters-in-law: Eshter Brown and Emma Fosdick.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Park River. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the church. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Vang Lutheran Cemetery of rural Fairdale.
