Elda I. Watt, age 79 of rural Milton, ND passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013 at her home near Milton. Elda I. Aune was born April 18, 1934 in Fairdale, ND the daughter of the late Edward and Wilma (Berntson) Aune. She attended rural schools at Silvesta District 81 and 82 and graduated from Fairdale High School in 1952. Following her education, Elda worked at Stan's Café in Grafton, International Harvester in St. Paul, MN and the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Elda was united in marriage to Ronald Watt on July 25, 1954 at the Hitterdal Lutheran Church of rural Milton. The couple made their home near Milton. Elda worked as an aide at the Good Samaritan Center in Osnabrock, retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Bethel Free Lutheran Church and WMF of Grafton, ND, the Fairdale Sons of Norway where she served as Secretary, the Country Co-Workers Homemakers Club where she held all the offices, the Milton American Legion Auxiliary and the Langdon Chapter of T.O.P.S. Elda especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to bake and exhibited her baking at the Walsh County Fair. She enjoyed playing the keyboard, camping and entertaining and working word find puzzles. Elda is survived by her husband Ronald, Milton, ND; children: Gayle (Wayne) Slama, Langdon, ND; Karin (Tom) Toston, Menomonie, WI; Lowell (Brenda) Watt, Park River, ND; Jeff Watt, Osnabrock, ND; five grandchildren: Corey Slama, Jeremy (Heidi) Slama, Shawn Slama, Joshua Watt and Jessica (Ben) Schumann; three great grandchildren: Blake and Emily Slama and Jackson Watt; her siblings: LaVerne (Edwin) Stone, Elk River, MN; Lorraine (Paul) Aune, Amery, WI; Pearl Aune, Grants, MN; Floyd (Elaine) Aune, Mayville, ND; Orville (Judy) Aune, Park River, ND. She was preceded by her parents and four brothers: Orville Dennis, Jesse, Walter and Melvin. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at Bethel Free Lutheran Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Victory Free Lutheran Church of Park River. Friends may also call at Bethel Free on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Milton Memorial Cemetery, Milton, ND.
