Edna Teevens, age 98 of Grafton, ND passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton.
Edna Victoria Licwinko was born September 17, 1917 in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of the late Zygmunt and Mary E. Licwinko. She was baptized and confirmed in Rockford. Edna attended all her years of schooling in Rockford, graduating with a business degree from Brown Business College in Rockford.
Edna married Richard H. Church in 1949 in Rockford, Illinois. In 1952, Richard and Edna moved to Grafton, ND. They were in the automobile industry with ownership in Church Chevrolet. Together they raised their son Charles A. Church. They were very active in their church and in the Communities of Grafton and Park River. Richard passed away in 1980.
In 1988, Edna married Dr. William “Bill” Teevens. William and Edna spent many wonderful years together. They enjoyed activities with their combined families and traveled to many places. Edna was known by many of her friends to say, “I have been so blessed to have been in loving relationships with both my two husbands. They both loved me and I loved them.” Dr. William Teevens passed away in 2006.
She was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and Altar Society. She was very active in the church. She was a member of the Grafton American Legion Auxiliary.
Edna is survived by her son, Charles A. Church, Grafton, ND; grandchildren: Taron Church, serving in Afghanistan; Anthony Church, Fargo, ND; Brian Church and his daughter Nevaeh, Grand Forks, ND; brother, Zigmund (Marion) Lucwinko, Rockford, IL; niece, Jane and nephew, Michael; step-children: Jean Ann (Robert) McCann, Bill Teevens, Mary Borkhuis, Michael (Gerry) Teevens and Margaret Elkin; step-grandchildren: Tess McCann, Heather McCann, Tammy Hambre, Brian Borkhuis, Brad Borkhuis, Brent Borkhuis, Ann Teevens Hill, Peter Teevens, Paul Teevens, Nicole Elkin, Patrick Elkin, Andrew Teevens and Alisa Teevens; step-great greatgrandchildren: Brice Borkhuis, Amber Borkhuis, Hanah Hill, Holly Hill, Henry Hill and Summer Lyne Teevens. She was preceded in death by her husband’s: Richard and William, parents and brother, Casmar Licwinko.
Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 11:30 A.M. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
