Edna Sangrait

Edna J. Sangrait, age 76 of Grafton, ND, passed away on Monday, June 01, 2015 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. Edna J. Werner was born July 5, 1938 in Walhalla, ND, the daughter of the late Edmond and Mathilda (Sagert) Werner. She grew up and graduated high school in Bathgate, ND. Following her education she worked as a CNA at the Deaconess Hospital in Grafton and later the Developmental Center. She was united in marriage to Raymond Sangrait on November 11, 1966 at Zion English Lutheran Church of Grafton where the couple made their home. Her health forced her to retire in 1983 and Raymond passed away on January 1, 1997. She moved into the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton in August of 2013. She was a member of Zion English Lutheran Church of Grafton. She enjoyed working on embroidery, spending time with her grandchildren, and watching hockey. Edna is survived by her children: Lori (Steve) McDowell, Moorhead/Brainerd, MN, Troy (Kandi) Sangrait, Grafton, ND, Darcy (Tammie) Sangrait, Hiawatha, KS, Lonnie (Robin Berg) Sangrait, Park River, ND, Todd (Trisha) Sangrait, Grafton, ND, 17 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, siblings: Darlene (Bernie) Kotaska, Aitkin, MN, Dennis (Rose) Werner, Erhard, MN, and Dale (Betty) Werner, West Fargo, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Raymond. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 2:30 P.M. at the Zion English Lutheran Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Acton Cemetery of rural Grafton.
