Edith Bjerke

Edith Bjerke age 85 of Park River, ND passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016 at First Care Health Center of Park River, ND.

Edith Ford was born August 17, 1930 in Park River, North Dakota the daughter of the late David and Janet (Robb) Ford. She grew up and attended school in Park River, graduating from the Walsh County Agricultural School. Following her education she was united in marriage to Marlow Bjerke on August 17, 1949 in Park River. Following their marriage the couple moved to California while Marlow served in the United States Armed Forces. Following his discharge the couple lived in Grand Forks, Fargo and Denver. Edith worked as a medical receptionist while in Grand Forks and Fargo. When Marlow retired the couple moved back to Fargo and later returned to Park River. Marlow passed away on Sept. 15, 2012. Edith moved to the Good Samaritan Center in December of 2012.

She was a member of the Federated Church in Park River.

Edith was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Connie Ford of Minneapolis, MN and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Glen, David, Kenneth, Alex and Harlan and sisters: Mary and Muriel and a nephew, Bobby Ford.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Federated Church of Park River, ND. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Park River, ND. Memorials are suggested to the Federated Church of Park River or the Park River Bible Camp.
