Douglas T Davis

Douglas T. Davis, age 67 of Grafton, ND passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.

Douglas T. Davis was born February 4, 1953 in Grafton, ND the son of the late Percy and Agnes (Bazal) Davis. He attended elementary school in Nash, ND and graduated from Grafton High School in 1971. He graduated from UND in Grand Forks with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 1976. Following his education he returned home and started farming with his father.  Doug was united in marriage to Janelle Sveen on June 19, 1987 in Grafton, ND. The couple made their home on the family farm for several years before moving into Grafton.

Doug was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, UND Champions Club. He served on the board at Associated Potato Growers Association and Dundee Mutual Insurance. He was an avid UND Sioux Hockey and Winnipeg Jets Fan. He loved to hunt and spend time with his family.

Doug is survived by his wife Janelle, Grafton, ND; his children: Jess (Logan) Hanson, Springfield, TN; Adam Davis, Grafton, ND and Andrew Davis, Nashville, TN; his sisters: Vicki (Curtis) Nelson, Yucca Valley, CA and Gayle (Robert) Lee, Harvey, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Sandra and nephew, Ross.

Due to the current pandemic, there will be a walk through visitation on Saturday, December 5, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at St. John’s Catholic Church in Grafton. A private funeral Mass will be held at 10:30. Interment will be at the Landstad Cemetery in Auburn, ND.  Social distancing and face masks are required.  The funeral service will be livestreamed on the Tollefson Funeral Home Inc. Facebook page. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials to the Unity Medical Center Foundation.
