Dorothy Shereck

Dorothy Ann Shereck, age 89 of Grafton, ND, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018 at her home in Grafton.

Dorothy Ann Votava was born June 25, 1928 on the family farm near Veseleyville, ND, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Matejcek) Votava. She grew up there and attended the Sander School District #58 2 miles north of Veseleyville. She was united in marriage to Edward Shereck on April 23, 1956 in Grafton, ND. The couple made their home in Grafton where she worked as a waitress at the American Legion as well as several other restaurants in town.

She was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, canning, baking, especially Kolaches, and playing cards.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Debbie French (Lon Burns), Doug (Karen) Shereck, Mike (Michelle) Shereck, all of Grafton, ND, Karen (David) Schultz, Minot, ND and Shane Shereck, Grafton, ND, daughter-in-law Cynthia Shereck, Grand Forks, ND, grandchildren: Jason (Alice) French, Chad (Libby) French, Kasey Schultz, Zachary Schultz, Kennedy Shereck and Olivia Shereck, great grandchildren: Halle and Peyton French, and brother Stanley Votava, Grafton, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward on May 11, 2006, son Darrel Shereck, granddaughter Courtney French, and brothers: Frank and Marcellin Votava.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery of Grafton.
