Dorothy A Rudnik

Dorothy A. Rudnik, age 90 of Grafton, ND and formerly of Minto, ND passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Center of Park River, ND.

Dorothy A. Czapiewski was born December 11, 1928 in Harriston Township, Walsh County, ND the daughter of the late Frank and Barbara (Paschke) Czapiewski. She attended rural school in Harriston Township. Following her education she was united in marriage to Roman Rudnik on January 25, 1947 in Minto, ND. The couple lived and farmed in Harriston Township until 1982 when they moved into Minto. Dorothy worked in several café’s and did babysitting in her home. Roman passed away on August 28, 1991. Dorothy continued to live in Minto until 2015 when she moved to Grafton. In September of 2018 she moved to the Good Samaritan Center.

Dorothy was a former member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar Society in Minto. She was a member of the Minto American Legion Auxiliary and was currently a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and Altar Society in Grafton. Dorothy loved to wander around the Second Time Around Store and never missed a rummage sale.

She is survived by her daughters: Betty Novak, St. Thomas, ND and Doris Rudnik, Park River, ND; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, Cecil Novak, sisters: Isabel Helmowski, Gen Narlock and Martha Rudnik, her brothers: Ernest, Henry and Richard Czapiewski.

Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Thursday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Minto, ND in the spring.
