Dorothy A. Lindgren

Dorothy A. Lindgren, age 87 of Park River, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2012 at the First Care Health Center of Park River. Dorothy A. Haugen and her identical twin sister were born September 29, 1924, near Gonvick, MN, the daughter of the late Ole and Florence (Johnson) Haugen. She grew up and attended school in Gonvick. Dorothy went to Minneapolis and worked following school. After several years she went to work with her brothers on the potato farms in North Dakota where she met and fell in love with Allston Lindgren, the son of Philip Lindgren, for whom she was working. Dorothy married Allston on May 29, 1947. She participated with her husband Allston in the farming operation, later working at St. Ansgar Hospital and the Good Samaritan Society in Park River as a cook. Dorothy is survived by her children: Sharon (Vern) Williams, Elk River, MN, Alayne (Dave) Duame, Prior Lake, MN, Paul (Juanita) Lindgren, Circle Pine, MN, Duane (Joy) Lindgren, Fergus Falls, MN, Tim (Kathy) Lindgren, Alice, ND, Jeff (Allison) Lindgren, Cathay, ND, and Jerel (Linda) Lindgren, Park River, ND, brother Leif (DeeDee) Haugen, Fosston, MN and sister Emma Satran, Bagley, MN, brother-in-law Neil Larson, Park River, ND, 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Ole and Florence Haugen, husband Allston, her infant daughter Nancy, her brothers: Arthur and Orville Haugen, twin sister Doris Larson, brother-in-law Albert Satran and sister-in-law Elaine Haugen. Funeral services will be Monday, September 24, 2012 at 10:30 at the Grafton Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 with a prayer service at 5:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Park River, ND.
