Doris Heuchert, 83 of rural St. Thomas, ND died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at her home. Doris Carol Williamson was born December 15, 1929 at Glasston, ND the daughter of John and May (Long) Williamson. She attended grade school at Glasston and graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1947. She graduated from Minot State Teachers College and taught at the Lane School near Crystal. She also taught at the Cranley School in rural Cavalier. Doris married Carl Heuchert on June 14, 1951, at the farmhouse. Carl passed away on May 24, 1967. Doris was very involved and dedicated to her church. She taught Sunday school and music for many years and belonged to the LWML of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural St Thomas. She served on many church committees. She will be most remembered for her love and dedication to her faith, family, friends and farm. Doris is survived by her five children: Elton (Renae), rural St. Thomas, Jolene Adrian, rural St. Thomas, Verlinda (Rich) Margerum, Pembina, ND; Allen (Val) rural St. Thomas, and Carlton (Stacey) rural St. Thomas, 11 grandchildren: Adam Adrian, Sara LaFromboise, Doug Margerum, Katie Adrian, Kelsey Smith, Andy Adrian, Jason Margerum, Sam Heuchert, Luke Heuchert, Noah Heuchert, and John Heuchert, five great grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl, brothers, Lyle Williamson and Jack Williamson and sister, Marie Heuchert. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of rural St. Thomas. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the church cemetery.
