Donna Hermanson

Donna Hermanson, age 66 of Grand Forks and formerly of Grafton, ND passed away at her home in Grand Forks. Donna Gutting was born April 23, 1949 in Devils Lake, ND the daughter of Raleigh and Phyllis (Ludtke) Gutting. She grew up and attended school in Tolna, ND, graduating from Tolna High School. She attended St. Mary's School of Nursing in Bismarck, ND where she received her RN degree. She worked at the McVille Hospital prior to her marriage to Ardell Hermanson on May 5, 1973 in Tolna, ND. The couple lived in Valley City where she worked at the hospital and he completed his accounting education. In 1976 they moved to Grand Forks and Donna worked for the Riverview Hospital in Crookston, MN. In 1982 the couple moved to Grafton and she worked for Unity Hospital. She later worked at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks until retiring in 2007. Ardell passed away on June 3, 2013 and in 2014 Donna moved to Grand Forks, ND. She was a member of the Grafton Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing her piano and accordion and especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter Emma. Donna is survived by her daughter, Carrie Jean Hermanson, East Grand Forks, MN; granddaughter Emma Jean, East Grand Forks, MN; her mother, Phyllis Olson, Northwood, ND; siblings: Dennis Gutting, Tolna, ND; Fritz (Janet) Gutting, Benton, AR; and Charlene (Andrew) Stamness, Northwood, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her father Raleigh; husband, Ardell and step-father Thorman Olson. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Grafton Lutheran Church, Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Thursday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be Friday, July 10, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Cemetery, Tolna, North Dakota.
