Donna J. Gehrtz, age 79 of Grafton, passed away Tuesday, July 05, 2016 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton.

Donna J. Kasprick was born July 5, 1937 in Grafton, ND, the daughter of the late Anton and Blanche (Klava) Kasprick. She attended and graduated from Grafton High School. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Gehrtz on April 8, 1959 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Grafton. The couple made their home in Grafton where they raised their family. Kenneth passed away on September 9, 2002. Donna moved to the Lutheran Sunset Home in 1994.

She was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. As a young adult she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which gave her a new perspective on life making her family a priority. She was a loving mother and loved to spend time with her family and people. She had a zest for live and a gift for gab. She enjoyed baking.

Donna is survived by her children: Colleen (Don) Halvorson, Grafton, ND; Todd (Shelly Hunter) Gehrtz, Forest River, ND; Larry (Joanne) Gehrtz, Devils, Lake, ND; grandchildren: Kalyn, Dayton, Haley, Richard, Clayton and Dylan; great grandchildren: Abel, Hayden and Baylee; sisters: Mary Dokken, Betty Cudmore and Rosalie Hagen. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, parents, sister, Antoinette Sevigny, brother, Anton Kasprick, Jr.; sister-in-law, Elsie Reinhart and brother-in-law, Dean Gehrtz.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 11, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 5:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Grafton.
