Donald B. Simmons, Sr

Donald B. Simmons Sr., age 72 of Grafton, ND, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton.

Donald B. Simmons was born April 14, 1943 in Badger, MN the son of the late Marion E. and Anna A. (Skime) Simmons. He graduated from Greenbush High School. After his education he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from 1962-1966 in California. Donald was united in marriage to Barbara Quiroz in Oxnard CA. Following his discharge he worked as an airplane mechanic at the Point Mugu Naval Air Station until retiring in 1995. He later lived in Nevada, Washington and in 2005 moved to Grafton, ND.

Donald is survived by his significant other, Nancy Card, Grafton, ND; a step-daughter, Alice Harvey, Port Hueneme, CA; two grandchildren: Donald (Anna) Simmons, III, Missoula, MT and Kiri Elgin, Renton, WA and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Donald Simmons, JR; brothers: Merle and Lyle and sister, Joyce Roeser.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Military rites will be provided by the Grafton American Legion Post #41 and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
