Donald J. Osowski

Donald J. Osowski, age 77 of Grafton, ND passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at his home near Grafton.

Donald John Osowski was born April 20, 1940 in Oslo, MN the son of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Lizakowski) Osowski. He attended school in rural Oslo and following his education, he worked on the family farm. Donald was united in marriage to Jane L. French on June 21, 1960 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Oakwood. Together they made their home near Oslo and raised their eight children. He worked for American Crystal Sugar for thirty-five years. In 1996, he was awarded the prestigious Presidents Award for his innovations to the beet pilers. Above all, Donnie was well known for his skilled craftsmanship focusing mainly on custom kitchen cabinetry. His talent and workmanship is demonstrated throughout hundreds of homes locally and nationally. He designed and built their current home of thirty-five years near Grafton.

Donnie was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton and the Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered for his faith, dedication to his family, sharing of his talents sense of humor and quick wit.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Jane of Grafton, ND; children: Lori (Bill) Colleran, Norwalk, CT; Renae (Paul) Bjorg, Grand Forks, ND; Michelle (Randy) Stach, Breckenridge, MN; Janelle (Darren) Studney, Grand Forks, ND: Terry Osowski, Minneapolis, MN; Michael (Michelle) Osowski, Lakeville, MN; Eric Osowski, Grafton, ND; Lisa (Brian) Szady, San Francisco, CA; his grandchildren: Liam Colleran, Bianca (Jacob) McLellan, Zachary Waddell, Ronald Norling, Benjamin Norling, Megan Norling (Fiance Tyler Hest), Thomas Stach, Emily Studney, Anna Studney, Joseph Osowski, Christopher Osowski, Nicole Osowski, Sara Osowski, Hannah Szady, Hunter Szady; great grandchildren: Ella, Anna, Joshua, Karina, Caleb, Olivia McLellan, Lily Ehlers; his siblings: Evelyn Delasontos, Mesa, AZ; Delores (Chuck) Thomas, Rapid City, SD; Lorraine Kallock, Fargo, ND; Janice (John) Gowan, Fargo, ND; Jim Osowski (Dale Hansen), Fargo, ND; Carol Hauser, Glyndon, MN; and Larry (Connie) Osowski, Grand Forks, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents and his father and mother-in-law, Henry and Ernestine French.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at St. John’s Catholic Church. Friends may call the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Oslo, MN.
