Donald E. Larson

Donald E. Larson, age 69 of Grafton, ND passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND after a long courageous battle with cancer. Donald Edward Larson was born July 15, 1940 in Pembina, ND the son of the late Roy Sr. and Antoinette (Campeau) Larson. He grew up and attended school in St. Thomas, ND. Donald was united in marriage to Phyllis Ganyo on February 3, 1962 in Grafton, ND. Donald worked for Sando Trucking, Adamson Construction, Grafton Redi-Mix and Brodeur Construction. Donald was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, and was a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club. He enjoyed playing softball, playing from the age of 16 to 50 years, with various teams in the area. He enjoyed hunting, auction sales and visiting family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with this grandchildren and great grandchildren. Donald is survived by his wife Phyllis of Grafton, ND; daughters: Linda (Brad) Eide, Grafton ,ND; Colleen (Dave) Andrews, Salt Lake City, UT; son Dennis (Sharon) Larson, Hunter, ND; Mother-in-law Clara Ganyo, Grafton, ND; 8 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and one step great grandson, three sisters: Ann (Harlen) Thompson, Lois Chounard and Eileen Siewert all of Grafton, ND; brothers: Henry "Hank" Larson, Harlingen, TX; Randy Larson, Grand Forks, ND; brother-in-law Paul Siewert, Buxton, ND; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Francis, Roy Jr., Edward and twin brother Dennis and sister Joyce Mattson. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery of St. Thomas, ND.
