Dolores A. Desautel

Dolores A. “Dee” Desautel, age 80 of Grafton, ND passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton.

Dolores A. Lindemoen was born January 13, 1936 in Gatzke, MN the daughter of the late Palmer and Esther (Mickelson) Lindemoen. She grew up in Gatzke, Middle River and Stephen, MN where she attended school. Following her education she worked as farm labor in potato’s and beets. She later cooked at the DX station café. Dee married Joe Woinarowicz on November 15, 1955. The couple farmed with Joe’s father and brothers in Eagle Point Township. He passed away Nov. 10, 1973. Dolores moved to Drayton with her family and worked at the Spinning Wheel Restaurant and worked full-time at the Grafton Developmental Center for 20 years. On June 24, 1981 Dolores married William “Bill" Desautel at Grafton, ND. The couple made their home in Grafton. In 2001, she retired from the Developmental Center but continued on as a volunteer.

She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and Altar Society.

Dee is survived by her children: Grace (Brian) Hornbaker, Hallock, MN; Joan Fortier, Chippewa Falls, WI; Paul (Dawna) Woinarowicz, Drayton, ND; Scott (Denise) Woinarowcz, Olympia, WA; Joe (Donna) Woinarowicz, JR.; Apache Junction, AZ; step-children: Julee Desautel, Tacoma, WA; Jill (Darrell) Deckard, Houston, TX; Rock (Patricia) Desautel, Grafton, ND; Judy Desautel, Pratt, KS; 22 grandchildren;13 great grandchildren, her brother: Wayne (Jody) Lindemoen, Sturtevant, WI; and sister, Arlene (Connie) Cieklinski, Cudahy, WI. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son Greg, sisters: Margie Blawat and Ardyce Woinarowicz, brother, Robert Lindemoen and great grandson, Ethan Ray Kuznia.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 2, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Grafton, ND.
