Dennis M. Trenda

Dennis M. Trenda, age 62, passed away on October 16, 2016, at his home in rural Hoople, ND.

Born in Grafton, ND, on November 5, 1953, he was the son of Robert and Lorraine (Sherek) Trenda. He was raised on a farm and graduated in 1971 from Lankin High School. He worked for the railroad in Adams, ND and Hankey Farms near Park River, ND. He started a dedicated career in 1989 for the Walsh County Highway Department taking vacation to drive truck for beet harvest in the fall. He worked until his health required an early retirement in 2012.

He met Juliene (Jill) Linstad and they were married on September 1, 1979. They made their home in rural Park River and Hoople and raised two children, DeAnne (Chris) Udby, Detroit Lakes, MN and Nathan Trenda, Hoople.

Dennis enjoyed making his work and his family his hobby, especially the time spent with his grandchildren, Bryson (4) and Annistyn (1). He followed in his father’s footsteps and will be remembered for his teasing, joking, and witty remarks.

Dennis will also be missed by his brother, Norman (Jo) Trenda, Jamestown, ND; sister, Kathy (Rudy) Suda, Borup, MN; sister-in-law Amy (Larry) Ohnstad, Petersburg, ND; brothers-in-law Lauren (Cindy) Linstad, Jamel, CA, and Clint (Bonnie) Linstad, Park River, ND; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Memorial services will be Friday, October 21, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Park River. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River, ND. Friends may also call at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service.
