Dennis L Kemp

Dennis L. Kemp, age 84 of Park River, ND, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2024 at the First Care Health Center of Park River.

Dennis Lynn Kemp was born April 19, 1940 in Drayton, ND to Willis and Myrtle (Smillie) Kemp.  He attended Prattford Country School #98 through 8th grade and then attended Cavalier High School where he graduated in 1958.  He then attended Mayville College and graduated from NDSSS in Wahpeton in 1961 with a degree in Auto Body.  On June 25, 1961 Dennis was married to Judith A. Crowston in Mountain Lutheran Church.  Shortly after their marriage they moved to Park River, ND where he owned and operated a body shop and later worked in maintenance for the Park River School for 21 years, retiring in 2004.

Dennis was a member of the Park River Federated Church and loved having coffee with afternoon friends at 2:00 PM.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judy, Park River, ND; 3 children: John (Jeanine) of Burlington, IA, Scott (Doreen) of Ft. Collins, CO and Debbie (Scott) Midgarden, Ft. Collins, CO; four grandchildren: Joy Kemp of Burlington, IA, Jeremy (Emily) Kemp, Burlington, IA, Annika (Chris) Snyder, Ft. Collins, CO and Karah Midgarden, Denver, CO; siblings: Gayle (Don) Geiger, Bonita Springs, FL, Jeff (JoEllen) Kemp, El Paso, TX and Steve, IN; aunt Carol Sparrow, Mayville, ND and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Preceding him in death were his parents and brothers Douglas and Paul.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Park River Federated Church.  Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River.  Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at the Andvari Cemetery of Rural Cavalier, ND.
