Delores Tallackson

Delores “Dody” Tallackson, age 89 of Grafton, ND passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the Park River Good Samaritan Center.

Delores  McPherson was born November 9, 1933 in Park River, ND, the daughter of the late Norman and Maud (Hanson) McPherson.  She grew up and attended school there, graduating from the Walsh County Agricultural School.  Following her education, she was united in marriage to Arthur Tallackson on January 25, 1952 in East Grand Forks, MN.  The couple made their home near Grafton where they farmed and raised their family.  Art passed away on September 23, 2012 and she continued to make her home on the farm until moving into the Park River Good Samaritan Center.

She was a former member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Rural Hoople and the Living Word Family Church of Grand Forks, ND.  She enjoyed golfing, curling, playing tennis and spending time with her family.  She was a devout Christian and enjoyed reading the bible.

Dody is survived by her children: James (Carol) Tallackson, Grafton, ND, Anita (Dan) Passolt, Fargo, ND, and Donald (Donell) Tallackson, Cypress, TX; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brother Jim McPherson, Mandan, ND; as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 infant children, and sister Shirley Lindell.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church of Rural Hoople.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.  Inurnment will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery of Rural Hoople in the spring.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Pregnancy Help Center in Park River or the Gideons International.
