Debra Ann Rasmussen

Debra Ann "Deb" Rasmussen, age 51 of Hoople, ND passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009 at her home in Hoople. Debra Ann Shambaugh was born June 23, 1957 in Cavalier, ND the daughter of Richard Shambaugh and Lorraine Werven. She attended school in Cavalier and Hoople - graduating from Valley High School. She continued her education at UND-Lake Region in Devils Lake, ND. Deb was united in marriage to Duane Rasmussen on November 17, 1979 in Hoople, ND. The couple had two children: Jaime and Melissa. Deb was presently employed at the Hoople Café. Throughout the years she had been employed at Marvin Windows and the Lutheran Sunset Home in Grafton. Deb was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Hoople. Her pride and joy was her grandson Taylor, whom she spoiled every chance she had. She also enjoyed spending time with her many nieces, nephews and friends. She is survived by her daughters: Jaime Rasmussen, Grand Forks, ND; Melissa (Chris) Snyder, Arvilla, ND; grandson Taylor, Grand Forks, ND; mother Lorraine Martinson, Crystal, ND; brothers: Steve (Melinda) Shambaugh, Crystal, ND; Dave (Jeanette) Shambaugh, Grafton, ND; Kevin (Heather) Martinson, Hoople, ND. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her father Richard and step-father Glenn Martinson and her grandparents. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at the First Lutheran Church of Hoople. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Memorial Park South in Grand Forks, ND. The Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton is in charge of the arrangements.
