Debra R. Ladouceur

Debra R. Ladouceur, age 62 of Grafton, passed away peacefully Monday, December 22, 2014 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Debra R. Elgin was born September 23, 1952 in Lakota, ND, the daughter of the late Maynard and June (Anderson) Elgin. She attended and graduated from Lakota High School in 1971. She then entered a program with the Job Corps for Women in 1972 specializing in working with disabled people. Debra was united in marriage to John Kowalczik on February 28, 1975 in Grafton, ND. On August 15, 1986 she was united in marriage to Chuck Ladouceur. Debra worked for the Grafton Developmental Center as a Direct Care Associate, focusing on child care and being a teacher's aide. She worked for the Developmental Center for 26 years until her health forced her to retire. She was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Debra is survived by her daughter, Kristen (Ryan) Pastorek, Grafton, ND and her six grandchildren: Jadynn, Kobee, Kydyn, Rylee, Roree and Evie, all of Grafton. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial mass will be Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Inurnment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Grafton, ND.
